The Warrenheip BESS is currently in the pre-application stage of the Planning Approval process. Specialist subcontractors have been engaged to undertake a range of technical assessments which will be submitted to the VIC Department of Transport and Planning (DTP) for Planning Approval. You can learn more about the process on the Victorian Government’s Department of Planning website.
Construction will create job opportunities. Avenis requires all contractors working on its developments to hire local contractors and utilise local suppliers wherever possible. It is estimated that around 80 to 90 workers will be required to construct the project. During operations approximately 1-2 ongoing operational roles will be created. The employment benefits extend through the local supply chains to fuel supply, vehicle servicing, hotels/motels, B&Bs, cafés, pubs, catering, cleaning companies, tradespersons, tool and equipment suppliers and many other businesses.
